The project goes something like this:

Every month some instructions appear on instructionset.org.

Instructions may be vague or specific. Your challenge is to write software to carry out the instruction.

You may pick any programming or patching language you wish, and may stretch the definition of ‘programming language’ and ‘software’ if you like.

You are encouraged to provide sourcecode under a free license of your choosing, but this is not mandatory.

Kicking this off is draw a straight line and follow it.

Here’s an example of their Social Scripts:

On Tuesdays I play games with Mrs. Merry, Thomas and Jazdeep.
Sometimes we play games that have a winner.

Everybody says “Well Done!” or something like that when I win.
Mrs. Merry, Thomas and Jazdeep like to win as well.
I will try to say “Well done!” when they win.
Everybody will be happy and I might win next time.

But to my horror, I’ve spotted I’ve buggled the file name; I reuploaded smoking v0.2 with a v0.1 file-name. I’m putting it down to all the excitement of get Smoking onto fffffound.com in the first place.

Anyhoo, lesson learnt.

Still lovin’ the recursive behaviour of the socialscript though, almost a double helix of content and context. Nice.

it seemed obvious to hack together a SocialScript for a Curriculum Vitae. Not a Microformat, but a script.
